ConceptWe at Johnson Trading Co. are in love with the coffee in Vietnam, and especially with the exceptionally hard-working and generous farmers who grow it. We source specialty arabica, gourmet arabica and fine robusta directly from the farmers themselves thus supporting the local farming community and ensuring more money goes directly to them Our coffee is then sent to Saigon to be roasted by our artisan Japanese Kiyotaka Yamaoka-san of Tokyo. Kiyotaka has been roasting coffee for over 15 years in Tokyo, and now over two years in Saigon. His skills and talents were passed down to him from his father, and Kiyotaka has successfully passed The Coffee Meister Test administered by the Specialty Coffee Association of Japan. Kiyotaka has a very high attention to detail for all things roasting. Timing, temperature, air ventilation and his five second window rule are all keys specific to his success. We offer several roasts to best suite your style and requirements, but no matter which style you prefer, because of the excellent green beans we hand select, and our roasting experience, we provide you with some fantastic coffee.
